How Dogpoo is Changing The World
Perhaps a silent revolution is taking place, this time more than ever literally on your doorstep. Irritatingly literally even. It's been termed a 'prank', it's been termed 'borderline legal', it's been termed anti social but it simply IS ingenious. What is? Sticking a miniature US flag into piles of dog poo in public parks. The trend's origins are German. Two years of persistent campaigning in Bayreuth Park are driving the police up the wall especially since the offense has been repeated over 2,000 times. The flag prickers started their evildoing as a protest against the war in Iraq and the campaign is still going on now. Nobody knows whether the originators are still involved or whether it has simply caught on. Which makes German police a bit nervous. They wonder what the motivation is at this moment in time. But hey, perhaps dog poo creates a dynamic of its own when used as flag poles. We think that it is slightly unnerving though that this takes place in Germany, a country that is least likely to naturally take a good joke. That is perhaps why the trend has blown over to safer territory; the US and Canada. The genetic modifications that took place in the process have improved the trend. It has been fine tuned it to its new surroundings impressively; Safeguarding the fools thare afraid they might be breaking the law, people wishing to participate can find out how to do so entirely risk free by following the instructions "Make your own Bush-Poo flag" on pooprotest.com. Of course putting a face to the faeces takes all the fun out of the exercise. Yet the trend is far from over and who knows perhaps soon lawmakers will be concerning themselves with matters that are irritating even beyond themselves! Mental Masturbation of FTC Franchise Rule Report Please read through this quick thought and discussion as if a conversation where one party has been taken out and we are left with a monologue as the other debater is missing. Assume that debater is the compilation of arguments presented and only existing in the 432 page, 10-year late report of the Federal Trade Commission' Franchise Rule, for it does not exist in reality or in any way lend itself to any sort of modern day economic theory of free markets, free men, the rights of men and created corporate entities to free contract. Great Melting Pot Indeed An interesting conversation that I thought I must share with you. Today in a coffee shop in the United States of America the subject matter turned to South of the Border. Dole, Kemp, Trusting People Many in the peanut gallery of society are so quick to attack the republican party, out of duty to their side of the sound and fury of human endeavor, however if you are really going to attack people without debating their concepts then in fact you are no better than those you condemn. I recommend to all that you look at both sides and see how similar we really all are. Whats Right About Nebraska: How the Democrats Lost the Heart of American Populism (Note: This article was written slightly before the 2004 election; however, its thesis on how the Dems. lost the heartland--and why they continue to fumble the ball--bespeaks of a sea change that continues to sweep the American political landscape. A Cheap Holiday in Other Peoples Misery (catching up with Mordechai Vanunu in Israel) One of my favourite pieces of music is the Sex Pistols' classic 'Holidays in the Sun' - a song that begins with the line, 'a cheap holiday in other people's misery'. This would have made a fitting epitaph for my holiday in Israel, except that the $3000 air ticket meant that it wasn't exactly cheap.
